(Senior) Supervision Officer - Financial Market Infrastructure
CurrentMy work entails:• Project and programme management• Board level interactions with financial institutions; mainly trading venues/ CCPs/ banks• Setting strategic and operational priorities• Applying an eco-system perspective to the financial markets• Discussing legal norms in the context of policy objectives and market realities.• Anticipating the interplay between regulation and market practice • Developing assessment frameworks e.g. for benchmarking exercises• Assessing governance, risk management practices, and hard and soft controls• Evaluating IT controls and IT outsourcing• Conscious application of influencing strategiesWhilst working at the AFM I’ve always been drawn to problems for which no off-the-shelf solution was available. In solving them, I could always rely on my strong conceptual and problem-solving skills, my lateral thinking and creativity, and also on my ability to listen, challenge people, and generate buy-in for ideas. Being placed in leadership roles over the years allowed me to hone my managing and coaching skills.
