My dad worked at NASA as an engineer. Obviously, I grew up intrigued and very curious about how everything worked. I also loved building things. So it is no surprise that I pursued a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and recently completed an EIT. Prior to completing my degree, I was a Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape Specialist for the US Air Force and then later took on a role to train others in this area. I've cultivated a strong situational awareness skill that is now a part of my everyday life. When you build and sleep in an igloo's in the arctic or a teepee in the summer, or when you build a raft and go down rapids to see if it holds up, you might have to do it 12 more times until you get it right. Because you HAVE TO get it right. Well that mindset is ingrained in me and I will always persevere. I learned so much about materials that only further enhanced my skillset to pursue a career in engineering. I am a jack of all trades because of my curious nature. I also excel in problem solving, collaboration, and driving vision to see a project through. It's also helpful that I'm energetic, resourceful, and friendly. I'm excited to put these skills to work on a new challenge. A few other skills I've gained include: • Gained knowledge program coding, built an automated grilled cheese machine with Fanuc style robot with multiple inputs possible. • Designed, manufactured, and tested a Carbon fiber and aluminum frame mountain bike. • Designed a Programable Logic Controllers (PLC)s in automation simulations. • Performed analytical analysis of aluminum steel Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic.
