Specializing in custom cloud solutions built in Microsoft Azure, a variety of technologies are employed to deliver on a customers requirements, namely: Micro services, RESTful web Api's, MVC App services, .net Core apps, to name just a few. I am, therefore, quite versed in a broad range of concepts and technologies in the Microsoft stack and am confident in my ability to quickly deliver on requirements. Microsoft Dynamics features quite prominently as a customer usually wants to leverage their CRM to integrate into, or from, a separate business process. The Dynamics experience is sometimes extended through custom components or portals and I have personally been involved in such development throughout the life cycle of the projects. Development, Customer Engagements, and managing multiple requirements and environments all while maintaining the agile cadence means the role is more than just development, extending into consulting. The company maintains and encourages staff to improve with the latest technologies and techniques. My role at the company was that of a senior software developer focusing on development and maintenance for a logistics company product that was developed for them. The agile methodology was employed whereby team members would work in 2-week sprints to deliver on the sprint planning session outcomes. Engagement with the customer from all team members was on a continuing basis. The product was built using C# and MVC utilizing MVVM design patterns while integrating into cloud services while taking advantage of AngularJS for the front end and Entity Framework for backend integration. The application is hosted in the Microsoft Azure cloud.

My primary responsibility at PaySpace was to maintain and expand the tax engines used to calculate and manage the tax affairs for each country the software supported. These self-contained modules are the brains of the system ensuring each country’s tax laws are applied to the various packages, benefits, or payslips an employee has attached to their profile. Although this was my main responsibility, I was also required to attend to ad hoc queries or bug fixes. Reports, created in SSRS, were also being added and / or changed on a regular basis. When I joined PaySpace, the company was in the process of upgrading the system from Web Forms to the latest standards in MVC which meant I had some hands-on experience in doing some of these upgrades to improve the code and eliminate any inefficiencies and redundancies.

As time progressed and my role expanded I took on increasingly greater responsibility, often having to manage client’s expectations directly sometimes requiring me to travel around the country to Konica Minolta’s various branches to create these solutions. The sale of a Multifunctional Device, including a solution that integrates into the customer’s infrastructure, usually meant scoping and creating a custom software solution to get their data, processed into useful information, to where it was needed was crucial to the deal. Integration with Microsoft SharePoint for document management purposes proved to be popular, although other unique customer specific solutions were catered for. Often off the shelf products replaced the need for large scale custom development, but the sheer range of unique customer environments prompted me to create a modular, plugin driven, series of applications based on Konica Minolta’s own Open API that filled the gaps that these products couldn't, cater for. This proved to be popular and was implemented countrywide at companies and institutions in the financial, warehousing, and education industries, to name a few. This sometimes meant using non-Microsoft SQL solutions like PostgreSQL as per the customer’s unique needs. In 2014, I was awarded with a certificate in recognition of outstanding employee performance and received an all-expenses paid trip overseas for two.
