Provide desktop/laptop/printer support for a very large manufacturing company that built Dry Freight Vans & Refrigerated vans spanning multiple plants around the city of Lafayette. One of four specialists that supported the 1,000 desktop/laptops and printers. Configured new desktops/laptops with the standard company software which included configuring Lotus notes as the email client. Helped out to approve new hardware (desktop/laptop/printers) and then sent request to be ordered. Provided daily support for the Engineering CAD Mainframe system running Unigraphics on a DEC VAX 8800 & the Engineering Custom developed Bill of Material system on a VAX 11/780. Loaded tapes for backups, upgraded operating system and programs as necessary. Converted/Migrated the DEC Vax 11/780 Bill of Material system (hardware and software) to a DEC 4300 due to the aging hardware/software and the impending need to make it Year 2000 compliant. Converted the Unigraphics CAD system from the DEC VAX 8800 to 13 Silicon Graphics workstations running Pro/Engineer. Provided Desktop/Laptop hardware & software support using Lotus Notes as the email client. Provided Tech support for the Mapics/XA ERP system. Installed and upgraded versions as necessary
