My practice includes real estate, public utilities/infrastructure and local governmental law in Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia. I provide extensive services to clients throughout the region who have encountered growth management and increasingly complex legislative and regulatory issues during all phases of the development or repositioning process. In this regard, I represent local and national retail, office, residential and mixed-use developers and builders, golf course developers, nonprofit institutions and organizations, financial institutions, and hospitals. I have extensive experience in the area of local government and municipal law. I represent numerous municipal and public agency clients on a variety of legal matters in federal and state courts and administrative proceedings. I am also the author of "Maryland Local Government and Structure" (368 pgs, MICPEL 1999). Additionally, I commit substantial time and effort to participating in various community, civic, charitable, business and professional organizations and services.Prior to becoming a lawyer, I served as an officer in the 1st Cavalry Division of the U.S. Army, in Texas and the Persian Gulf region.Specialties: Certified LEED AP
