This includes requirements gathering, the conference room pilot, system user and PPTE testing, and the migration to and set up of the live system. It was subsequently used for to enter and update the rolling forecast and for reporting of actuals vs budget and forecast. This reduced the reliance on running reports via the Oracle General Ledger. Achievements include the following: • Pilot OFA reporting system setup and populated with balances.• OFA user training provided to 80 pilot users• OFA rolled out to the remaining… Show more With assistance from Oracle I was responsible for the implementation of Oracle Financial Analyser (OFA) within Network Rail. I was then heavily involved throughout all stages of its development as a reporting, budgeting and planning system becoming the principal OFA expert within Network Rail. Achievements include the following: • Pilot OFA reporting system setup and populated with balances.• OFA user training provided to 80 pilot users• OFA rolled out to the remaining functions• 30 OFA reports developed and reconciled to reports run from the Oracle Financials General Ledger• OFA business planning project extended the use of OFA so that it was used to build opex business plans with the consequent benefits to the business in terms of the consistency and transparency of this information compared to the previous spreadsheet based business planning process• Provision of ongoing support BAU support of OFA • I received positive feedback regarding outputs from the OFA business planning model from the Finance Director and Group Financial Controller. The added value was also confirmed via a survey of system users• Training courses provided for super users and end users • Reporting packs created using the OFA Excel spreadsheet add-in.• • The OFA business planning system was enhanced via a new income planning model as well as enhancements to the usability and performance of the system Test results indicated performance improvements of between 11% and 91% on the principal OFA models• • I designed, developed, tested, and implemented the OFA rolling forecast system allowing quarterly and periodic rolling forecast to be completed using OFA rather than via spreadsheets. This generated great feedback and personal mentions at the annual Finance conference• I received an invite from the Finance Director to the “You Make the Difference” Awards in recognition of work done in developing the OFA Rolling Forecast model and supporting OFA Show less
