Geographic Information Systems Analyst
Current- Prepare geographic data sets for use in computer aided dispatch, mobile data terminals, and geographic information systems for 16 public safety agencies.- Perform data management and manipulation of all provided regional data sets including normalizing, merging and revisions as well as ensuring data is synchronized and current.- Create and update computer digital maps for CAD system in dispatch and MDT systems in emergency response vehicles.- Collaborates with federal, state and local government agencies in collecting and merging GIS datasets required for E-911 county wide dispatch and mapping. Responsible for developing project schedules, communicating with stakeholders and other GIS and Public Safety personnel, and overseeing completion of activities.- Enter and update Automated Number Identification (ANI) and Automation Locating Information (ALI) to verify 911 caller information with 911 telephone systems.- Responsible for merging all Whatcom County and city GIS datasets for use in NG911 call routing.- Maintains the Master Street Address Guide (MSAG) database system which consists of address and street data connected to emergency services districts (ESD). Includes maintaining the integrity between public safety GIS and MSAG Emergency Service Zone Boundary layers to ensure essential accuracy of E911 telephone requests for service.- Develops and maintains the Emergency Service Zone boundaries as well as Emergency Service Number (ESN) boundaries.
