I was born in Southern California, but grew up in South Louisiana. Talk about a cultural contrast!! After graduating from high school in Plaquemine, Louisiana, I went to LSU, which is the only school that I could have seen myself attending -- especially after having spent many years of my life just across the Mississippi River. Almost everyone I knew was a Tiger fan! After graduating from LSU as a Chemical Engineer, and in preparation for a technical career, I followed up my Engineering degree with the Fundamentals of Engineering exam in the spring of 1995 (taken in Louisiana), which I passed. [The exam was formerly called the Engineer-in-Training exam, or EIT.]In my professional career, I have worked in a small, privately-held corporation, as well as a couple of much-larger, publicly-traded multinationals. My roles have ranged from supervisory / coaching experiences, to technical writing / training, to equipment troubleshooting, process improvement, boots-on-the-ground product & process development, to relationship- and team-building, to Regulatory (ESSHQ) Compliance and Quality Systems Management / Continuous Improvement.
