Mark Wallace (BCM, MBA, CGEIT, CISM, CISA) is the Head of Digital Technology for Fortescue Energy, an emerging global green energy business that encompasses renewable power generation, green hydrogen and ammonia production, advanced engineering for zero emissions power solutions, and other green industrial products. Fortescue is leading the world effort to decarbonize heavy industry, investing US$6.2 billion in capital to eliminate scope 1 and 2 emissions across all iron ore operations by 2030. Previously, he led Cyber Security, Architecture, and Portfolio Delivery across Fortescue's information technology and industrial technology environments.Mark is an experienced digital technology leader, with a diverse background spanning various sectors such as Banking, Insurance, Mining, Energy, Construction, Education, and Government. With a strong focus on digital transformation and cyber security, he has led technology projects in the US, South America, Africa, and the Asia Pacific for Fortune 500 and ASX 100 listed companies. Before joining Fortescue, Mark founded a successful management consulting practice and served as its CEO for over a decade. During his tenure, he was named a WA Business News '40-under-40 Award Winner'. Leveraging this experience, he co-authored the 'Cyber Security for Directors' Course for the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) which is being delivered nationally to build cyber literacy and capacity at the board level across Australia. Mark is an experienced and active Company Director, serving on various boards and risk committees of private, public, and not-for-profit organizations, to bridge the gap between technology and business outcomes.
