Lead Software Engineer for the Government Official Information eXchange (OIX) System (GOES). GOES is developed using C#\ASP.NET\VC++\SQL Server\XML\JSON that facilitates the use of Web technologies to manage the US Navy's Command and Control (C2) message exchange. GOES is the key GOTS software suite used on the Navy’s BUPERS and C2OIX enterprise official messaging systems. C2OIX is the Navy's C2 messaging system of choice, and has slated it to consolidate and replace functions implemented in several other systems like the Fleet SIPRNET Message system (FSM), the Navy Regional Enterprise Messaging System (NREMS), and the Fleet Message eXchange (FMX). As of 2019, C2OIX has successfully replaced and facilitated the shutdown of the FSM, NREMS and FMX legacymessaging systems. C2OIX was touted by the US Navy as potentially saving $15 million a year.Now working to migrate the current .NET Windows implementation of GOES to an AWS\AZURE-like cloud friendly docker container implementation using .NET core\C# and a DevOps CI/CD development process.Lead Software Engineer for the Defense Message Dissemination System (DMDS). DMDS is a suite of Microsoft Windows desktop software components programmed using VC++ and .NET that utilize MAPI and Outlook automation to customize automated official message processing.Lead Software Engineer for the Fleet SIPRNET Messaging system (FSM), Tactical Proxy (TP), and NCTAMS Proxy (NP) DMDS based Enterprise messaging systems. This includes development of a suite of custom software applications to automate many manually intensive DMDS database administration tasks and to provide custom communications transport services using Microsoft development technologies including VC++, Extended MAPI, ODBC, and SQL Server.

Managed five Software Engineers to develop the Aether Security Infrastructure (ASI), a 3DES Encryption package designed to integrate seamlessly with Wireless Enterprise applications. Developed Palm Client Encryption Components for ASI using Codewarrior 7 and Certicom Trustpoint PKI and Security Builder Encryption libraries.Managed two Software Engineers to develop Java based JAAS and Log4j modules for a J2EE Software Infrastructure called Aether Fusion, which targeted the BEA Weblogic Application Server on Solaris and Win2k. Utilized the Rational Unified Process (RUP), an Iterative Development Process, to manage the software development cycle. Utilized SAPI, TAPI, MFC, and COM to develop a MAPI Transport service to provide the capability to convert text components of email messages to audible voice so high priority DMS Message Traffic could be read over a voice telephone connection.Developed DMDS, a primary component in the Navy’s initiative to transition from the AUTODIN messaging network to the Defense Message System (DMS), utilizing Microsoft Visual C++, MFC, Microsoft Visual Basic, ODBC, COM, Extended MAPI, and Fortezza on the Windows 9x and Windows NT operating systems. Developed MAPI Transport services to provide seamless connectivity from standard MAPI Client Applications like Microsoft Outlook to SNPP, Mode I protocol, and Multimedia hosts. Acted as Engineering Team Lead by providing technical guidance, training, and programming task assignments to members of the DMDS Engineering team.Designed and developed the StarGate Protocol Converter utilizing Microsoft Visual C++ and Borland Delphi programming environments. StarGate enabled the Navy to replace an obsolete, legacy mainframe messaging system called the LDMX. Provided software enhancements and maintenance on the AUTODIN messaging system known as GateGuard. GateGuard utilized an embedded hardware subsystem written in Introl C, and an MS-DOS PC subsystem written in Pascal, and assembly languages.
