StarGate enabled the Navy to replace an obsolete, legacy mainframe messaging system called the LDMX. Provided software enhancements and maintenance on the AUTODIN messaging system known as GateGuard. GateGuard utilized an embedded hardware subsystem written in Introl C, and an MS-DOS PC subsystem written in Pascal, and assembly languages.
