I am currently working for Unity Partnership Limited performing the role of a technical architect in Oldham, Greater Manchester.I have designed and implemented an Identity and Access Management (IAM) solution using Azure AD. This allows corporate users and external guests (via Azure B2B collaboration) to securely access LOB applications. The solution supports access to cloud hosted web applications with single sign on using SAML and on premises web servers which are published using the Azure Application Proxy service via internal Azure Application Proxy connector servers. I have also been working on the migration of services to Microsoft Office 365. A hybrid Microsoft Exchange configuration is in place to allow co-existence between the on-premises Exchange 2010 Organisation and Microsoft O365 Exchange Online. A phased migration is nearing completion to move 3000 mailboxes to the cloud. Azure AD Connect has been configured to securely replicate on-premises Active Directory user and group accounts to the corporate Azure AD tenant.Exchange Online has allowed the implementation of a new email encryption solution using Azure Sensitivity Labels to protect corporate data sent to external third parties.I have designed and implemented Microsoft Intune as the mobile device management (MDM) solution. Policies and profiles have been put in place to manage corporately owned Android and iOS devices. The ‘Android for Work’ technology is being used to manage the distribution of applications to devices using the managed Google Play Store. A popular bring your own device (BYOD) solution has also been implemented using the Microsoft application manager (MAM) functionality within Intune to secure corporate data on personal devices.

Engaged alongside a Capita Project Manager, I work with schools, building contractors and other 3rd party’s (e.g. print providers, digital signage, cashless catering, audio/visual) to design all elements of the IT solution to fit in with the school’s requirements and vision. All designs are documented and approved by all parties.This is also a hands on role during the implementation phase and my tasks will include:-• Implementation and configuration of a resilient Active Network solution using HP ProCurve switch technologies (Layer 2 and 3)• Implementation and configuration of an enterprise class wireless solution using Meru technologies• Implementation of the server based infrastructure (Microsoft Windows 2012 or Windows 2008 R2 running on a VMware or Hyper-V platform using HP/Dell Hardware)• Configuration of the client imaging environment using Microsoft’s MDT/WDS framework to deploy Windows 7 images/applications to client devices over the new LAN.• Configuration of the School’s Backup solution using Symantec’s Backup Exec technologies working together with the latest HP Tape Library and D2D hardware.• Working with 3rd parties to ensure services such as CCTV, Access Control, VOIP, biometric printing and digital signage are operational using the School’s new wired and wireless network services.

Ramesys were the preferred IT supplier for the Building Schools for the Future (BSF) program in Manchester. My role along with two other consultants was as a Solutions Architect responsible for the design and implementation of the IT infrastructure to support up to 15,000 users in Wave 1 which involved the provision of 9 new secondary schools and 7 special educational needs schools in Manchester over a five year period.

Esteem Systems were a Citrix Platinum Partner, a Microsoft Gold Services Partner and a Dell Professional Services Partner with a wide range of clients from Public Sector, NHS, commercial and financial arenas. As a engineer within the Professional Services team my role involved a wide range of tasks in this area. These covered the complete lifecycle of projects from initial response, scoping exercises, design, planning, co-ordinating resource, implementation and post implementation support.
