Mark is one of New Zealand’s most broadly experienced chiropractors, having over 30 years of clinical experience, backed up with expertise derived from a 10-year stretch as a Senior Lecturer at Europe’s foremost chiropractic training college. He has been active in both the UK and New Zealand as an examiner assessing the competency of overseas chiropractors seeking to become professionally registered in each country, and has lectured to the chiropractic profession internationally. He was also selected as a ‘preferred provider’ of chiropractic services for the 2011 Rugby World Cup.Mark’s approach to treatment is gentle, caring, professional and above all thorough. He particularly enjoys helping patients resolve chronic or difficult problems where other approaches to date have been unsuccessful, and taking a ‘whole person’ approach in looking for the causes of pain.In addition to treating neck and back pain, he is usually able to help patients with- headaches (both tension-type and migraine-type)- shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand pain- hip, knee, ankle and foot pain- nerve pain (including sciatica, ‘trapped nerves’)- pelvic pain including that originating in the pubis, sacro-iliac joints and tailbone (coccyx)- rib pain and pain affecting the joints between the ribs and spine/sternum- pain from old scar tissue and adhesions following previous injurySpecialties: - ‘Active’ muscle release techniques: a highly effective treatment for resolving chronic muscle tension, shortening, scar tissue and adhesions which often act as an undiagnosed obstacle to full recovery- Kinesiotaping: the temporary application of specialist adhesive tapes to the body in order to normalise muscle firing patterns and rehabilitate movement- Specialist muscle balance and function testing, including Applied Kinesiology and Sacro-occipital technique
