Adelaide Samphire Coast

As a supervisor of Green Army team we will Support the implementation of the Metropolitan and Northern Coastal Action Plan (MANCAP). The plan outlines conservation priorities and threats across the Samphire coast, The team will be involved in a number projects including Pest Plant and Pest Animal surveys, Seed collection, Fencing, Re-vegetation projects across the region with planting of 10,000 seedlings, working with and supporting community groups across this region, and the best aspect of this program is that the young people involved in this program are able to gain accredited units in Conservation Land Management. My aim as a supervisor is to upskill participants of this program which will build confidence, knowledge and experience within a team environment, leading to improved career opportunities for all involved

As Trainer in Conservation Land Management & Horticulture I deliver accredited AQF qualifications to adult vocational learners studying Certificate II Conservation Land Management & Horticulture.• Develop Power Point presentations and the planning of activities to simulate environmental conditions. • Coordinate and supervise students on day excursions to differing ecological and environmental landscapes relevant to the modules studied in the classroom, in order for them to observe current land management practices.• Provide opportunities for the students to liaise with government and non-government agencies in order for them to have access to key stakeholders

As strategic project assistant my role was to initiate and develop a draft frame work for several projects within the District Council of Mallala including: Salt Creek remediation project, Thompson Beach shore bird trail, Samphire Draft Strategy and Pt Parham and Webb Beach Management plans this involved:• Developing a full report, project scope, budget and proposal for submission to the committee• Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, Birdlife Australia, Natural Resources Management Board, students and academic supervisors from Adelaide’s tertiary institutions

Two Wells

Developing and sourcing funding to implement environmental conservation and biodiversity restoration projects including Two Wells Primary Community Connections Project, this project integrated vegetable gardens, storm water harvesting and re-vegetation of habitat corridors throughout the wider community. .

Gawler High School

As Grounds Manager I was responsible for maintaining all environmental, farm and grounds facilities within Gawler High School including Gawler House. As Project Manager, my major achievements included the initiation and management of large-scale environmental conservation and biodiversity restoration project that included an Irrigation and Water Efficiency System, Habitat Corridor and Wetlands. I provided training support for participants on work placement and community placement programs.
