Providing project management and leadership to a cross-county project, led by Norfolk CC and working with Suffolk County Council. Part of the Targeted Youth Support Service in Norfolk and Early Help team within Suffolk that works with young people at risk of extra familial harm. My work contributes to a cross county contextual safeguarding approach to adolescent risk. The role involves work with Children Social Care and the Learning and Inclusion teams in the Local Authority to ensure children and young people effected by exploitation remain included and engaged in education training and employment as this is a key factor in reducing risk and increasing life chances of this vulnerable group.

Whilst at Nacro I provided leadership to teams working in HMPPS Medway Secure Training Centre, 2 specialist, secure mental health inpatient units and Nacro's adult vocational education and training within the West Midlands. I was responsible for curriculum and quality improvement; implementation of the individual sites Ofsted/CQC Improvement Plan, staff CPD/management, contract management, stakeholder engagement. I was also very involved in Business Development; leading and mobilising several new contracts. Further to above I have supported nationally recognised action-research to support youth custody models (e.g., our ‘Beyond Youth Custody’ 5-year longitudinal study with universities and practitioner’s), which informs youth justice practice and was a key contributor to ‘Using an Identity Lens’ for constructive working with children in the criminal justice system and written a published article for the Times Education Supplement on Mental Health.

As London Resettlement Lead for Novus, I mobilised and delivered the CRC/resettlement contract across London Prisons, this involved working with London Probation, HM Prisons and local and national employers, Job Centre Plus, National Careers Service and employer groups. I set up resettlement teams within 7 London Prisons and mobilised Through the Gate services across the resettlement pathways (finance, employment, accommodation, personal support /wellbeing etc.) for those leaving custody.
