• Ensure the effective functioning and performance of Council’s resource consent and compliance operation
• Promoting the resource consent and compliance teams philosophy that is forward looking and customer oriented.
• Responsible for all resource consent decisions, including, monitoring, enforcement and appeals.
• Resolution of numerous challenges to decisions in Environment Court and High court including coastal subdivision, Whangamata and Tairua Marinas, Kopu Bridge and associated infrastructure, expansion of mussel farms land.
• Provide advice to staff and consultants in making recommendations to the Judicial committee and independent commissioners
• Re-organisation of the resource consent and monitoring processes incorporating current best practise utilising NZ and international experience.

Auckland

• Responsibility and delegated authority for approximately 95% of resource consents within the Mt Eden, Balmoral, Epsom, Onehunga and Penrose areas of the City.
• Role in managing a pool of 30+ planners and other technical staff, with direct responsibility for managing a team of 9 planners, a development engineer, an arborist and an administrator.
• Management of workflows and expenditure to 2 firms of consultants responsible for Council's overflow resource consent work.
• On a weekly basis attended the Council's Regulatory and Fixtures Sub-committee,
• Represent the Council at hearings on resource consents.
• Involved in negotiating with developers, local residents and pressure groups.

Grays, Essex

• Channel Tunnel Rail Link (CTRL)
• Lead Planning Officer for Thurrock Council and member of the CTRL planning forum.
• Involved implementing the new legislation CTRL Act 1996,
• Negotiating with the consortium of railway builders and presenting each section and construction arrangements to the Councillors.
• A Tesco distribution depot with a floor area of 340000 sq m providing, 800 new jobs, highway improvements, $NZD900000 of planning gains for West Thurrock, integrated transport initiatives and infrastructure improvements.
• A hotel Development with $NZD210000 of planning gained for West Thurrock, integrated transport initiatives and infrastructure improvements
