Going into my 14th year with a marvelous, industry leading company, I have had the opportunity to work in a variety of compliance & performance driven management positions. Starting on the frontline as a Customer Service and Operations Agent, then moving into developing and implementing training for Ops Agents and Flight Coordinators - which gave me great exposure to all types and levels of station operations in our system. In 2007 I was offered the chance to develop our companies relationship with our federal regulators from the perspective of ground operations. It was a significant challenge that I relished and which drove me. After 4 years as the Ground Operations FAA liaison, I was asked to take on a new challenge - International Facilitation (customs). The political arena was new to me but I learned quickly to adjust to regulators from 3 different countries. I was put in a position to help station management build relationships with individual port authorities and national regulators. In 2013, I was asked to take on a significant challenge to bring our companies baggage performance up to industry leading standards.
Served as the Chief Executive Officer for this non-profit organization that served people with disabilities through sports, recreation, and education.
I was a very fortunate person ... I was able to live the dream I had since age 11. During my 23+ years in education I was fortunate to be able to teach a variety of courses, most of them related to US History and American Government. I was able to serve as a head and assistant football coach, wrestling coach, track & field coach, and baseball coach at two major Anchorage high schools. Having bee a part of thousands of student-athletes was the greatest time of my years in education. In 1982 I became the Director of Athletics at Dimond HS, then moved to East HS in the same capacity in 1986. This administrative position gave me great experience managing people, programs, and budgets at a high level. It also offered me the opportunity to continue in the classroom as an instructor and coach on the field. Once I retired I found that the world had a lot of other things that interested me ... non-profit executive leadership, car sales and finance management. It's been awesome.
