• Completed project determining how Western Diet, intestinal epithelial cannabinoid receptor subtype-1 (CB1) expression, and THC administration alters gut-barrier function. Found that removal of CB1 in the intestinal epithelial cells exclusively exacerbates western diet-induced gut-barrier dysfunction. • Developed and published a novel UPLC-MS/MS method to detect the activity of several lipid metabolizing enzymes involved in production and degradation of endocannabinoids.• Completed project investigating the role for the endocannabinoid system in Nippostrongylus brasiliensis (Nb) infection. Found that peripheral blockade of cannabinoid receptor subtype-1 increased eosinophilia and lung tissue damage in Nb infection without altering parasite burden.• Presented at several local, national, and international meetings where I was awarded for best presentation.• Served as the Graduate Student Voting Member of the Student Services and Fees Advisory Committee. Managed and advised the Chancellor on how to distribute a multi-million-dollar budget to determine how student fees should be used to provide services to the students. Assessed organization applications for funding from the student fee reserve • Served as the UCR SOM Academic Affairs Officer. Held weekly office hours to give students an opportunity to approach me with issues. Was directly involved with the main campus Graduate Student Association to make decisions which influence the graduate student life at UCR.• Served as the Biomedical Sciences Grievance Committee Representative. I represented graduate students in the School of Medicine in grievance committee meetings. These meetings involved discussion of what action, if any, should be taken to ensure the learning environment for rotating UCR medical students is safe.• Served as the UCR SOM mini-GSA Medical School Representative.
