CurrentResponsible for the full daily operation of the British Egg Industry Council. This includes; Recommending policy to the BEIC Council and ensuring its effective implementation; Responsibility for representing BEIC in meetings/lobbying with/of Ministers, Civil Servants, MP’s, government departments, and others (in the UK); Responsibility for the drafting of papers and report writing and responding to consultation documents; Providing both written and oral evidence to House of Commons and other inquiries; Representing BEIC on television, radio and in the press and via presentations at both UK and international conferences and seminars; Responsibility for the administration of the Lion Quality scheme (the world’s foremost food assurance scheme for eggs and egg products), including registration, monitoring and auditing of Subscribers; Responsibility for full budgetary control of the BEIC, including the review and control of overheads and expenses; Making recommendations on the BEIC levy and ensuring its collection; Effectively managing BEIC staff. Additional roles included: Secretary-General of the European Egg Packers and Traders Association (1999 – 2018); Secretary-General of the European Union of Wholesale with Eggs, Egg Products and Poultry and Game (1999 – 2018). (EUWEP is the EU umbrella organisation for EEPTA, EEPA (the European Egg Processors Association), and EPGA (the European Poultry and Game Association)); Board member of the Comité Européen De Liaison Des Commerces Agro-Alimentaires (CELCAA) 1999-2018. (CELCAA is the EU liaison committee for the food trade. CELCAA’s purpose is to promote and defend (horizontally) the commercial function of agri-foodstuffs and to coordinate the action of the member organisations and represent its members vis-à-vis the EU Institutions).
