I have been working in the Education sector since 2005. I have worked for Careers Wales, Cardiff Council and currently Llamau. I have worked on direct delivery with young people in school and excluded from school. I have held strategic positions in Cardiff Council Education department with responsibility for ensuring the number of young people leaving statutory education not in Education, Employment or Training is as low as it can be. I arrived in Cardiff Council in 2013 with NEETS at 10.8% of the cohort and left with only 1% unable to be engaged in further EET. I currently an Assistant Director at Llamau working to provide education support and engagement support for young people furthest away from the labour market. This provision sits across Wales and is part of a wider network of providers support young people in Wales. A significant part of my success to date has been built on relationship building and community development. Much of my work to date cannot be done in isolation and requires multiple partners to come together under a common goal. In my current role I have grown income into our programs by 150% in 3 years and maintained high levels of outcomes relevant to our sector despite the challenges faced with COVID. Holding my current position and whilst being a Chair of Governors for a Primary School in Cardiff, whilst working as part of a Committee for a grassroots football club, I have been able to demonstrate my ability to manage budgets.
