Devised, wrote and presented a series of 14 hours of lectures to my JD class on the topic of comparative criminal criminal law US/UK focusing on 'the right to silence'. The course culminated in a three hour written examination and a two hour oral presentation (mock trial). The examination results counted towards the students final grade for their Doctorate of Jurisprudence.

Mark is one of four Mediators appointed as an independent mediator with MPA's new mediation service. This is a new service designed as a forum to resolve music industry related disputes. For more details- go to the MPA website and search on 'mediation service'.

Club Ska was founded by myself and the late David Beal to provide a live music forum in London for vintage Jamaican artists to present the best of ska music whilst backed by a tremendous house band. Each year we would present artists of the calibre of Prince Buster, Desmond Dekker and Laurel Aitken on our stage at Club Ska, The Rayners Hotel in West London. Some of these shows were recorded for albums and for DVD's. In recent years I have been joined in this work by Andy Chesham and our shows now take place at London's oldest Jazz Club - the 100 Club on Oxford Street. Club Ska has close ties with the Jamaican High Commission, the National Youth Jazz Orchestra, the New Walk Museum in Leicester and Cherry Red Records.

Adjudicating on Appeals before my Committee after hearing the evidence, the submissions of Counsel on law and fact and considering all appropriate regulations and producing a written Judgement for the parties.

In September 1988 along with three other young barristers I founded our own Common Law set of chambers. Our new chambers were the first set to adopt the Bar Council's 'Model Constitution' and I became the youngest Head of Chambers to receive approval to form a set of chambers. In a 10 year period we grew from a chambers of four to a chambers of 38 tenants with a turn-over of £3 million pounds in 1998. The most satisfying aspect of this work was providing an opportunity for young barristers to establish themselves. Whilst all four of the original founding members have moved on the set we established remains and continues to grow under the good stewardship of Mark Love at 2 Dr. Johnson's Buildings.
