Mark Yedlin has over 40 years of experience as a transportation professional specializing in the development and application of traffic simulation models to evaluate proposed improvements to traffic operations. He's held corporate executive and project management positions overseeing numerous transportation studies including traffic and transit improvements, Transit Signal Priority (TSP), construction staging, work zones, traffic safety, ITS, electronic toll collection, adaptive signal control and air quality. Mark was one of the original developers of FHWA’s popular traffic simulation software, now known as CORSIM. He also oversaw development and marketing of commercial highway capacity and simulation software packages known as HCM and SIG/Cinema used by over 2500 transportation professionals worldwide in the 1990s to mid 2000s. He provided technical support and training in traffic simulation to traffic engineers across the U.S. under contract to the FHWA.Mark also performed analyses of the effectiveness of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards for the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) for reports to the US Congress.Since joining GPI in 2011, he has been assisting the NYCDOT in implementing TSP city-wide. This work merited a Diamond Award from ACEC NY in 2014 and was nationally recognized by ACEC. Mark enjoys making presentations and is a frequent speaker at professional conferences.
