Mark Young, Managing Director, is a member of the Climate Infrastructure Group, within BlackRock Capital Markets. He leads a team responsible for technical underwriting assumptions and risks, project construction and operations for Climate Infrastructure projects (e.g., wind, solar, EV charging, battery storage) globally. Mr. Young joined the firm in September 2015. Mr. Young has more than 24 years of climate infrastructure experience with active participation in all major markets globally. Before joining BlackRock, Mark was a Director at advisory and third-party engineering firm DNV GL. There he oversaw technical advisory services for renewables including wind, solar and marine energy globally. His technical experience includes onshore and offshore wind resource measurement, power performance of wind turbines, climate technology, failure analysis, and component design. He also has extensive experience performing due diligence on solar PV power plants, and de-risking operations. He is an internationally recognized expert on wind turbine testing and a former member of two IEC subcommittees that developed and improved testing standards. Mr. Young holds a B.S. degree in mechanical engineering from the Pennsylvania State University.
