Almost 32 years in the rail industry as a Train Driver. Started with British Rail in 1989, driving freight trains for 12 years then Driving High Speed 200kph Cross Border trains from Scotland to England for 18 years, also worked on Rail Enginnering projects, Settle Carlise Renewal Project over 4 years in the late 1990s then worked on the Euston Throat Renewal project for 2 years in London.I was recommended by a rail manager to SAR Railways in Saudi Arabia to be one of the High Speed Train Drivers on the new rail project but Major Illness in my family stopped me committing to it at that time.I Moved to Canada after 30 years of Driving Trains and I'm now working for TransEd in Edmonton as an LRV Operator & Auxiliary Instructor training new trainee operator recruits,helping in the testing & commissioning phase as well as the Systems demonstration phase to the City of Edmonton until Conclusion into Revenue Service. November 4th 2023.I'm Also the Drivers Representative for the (JHSC) joint Health & Safety Commitee at TransEds Valley Line South LRT With Safety as my No 1 Priority in my 32 years on the railway as a Train Driver.I also have a City & Guilds SVQ Level 2 in Train Driving in the UK from my time asa Train Driver in Scotland.I still hold a Valid UK Train Drivers License Valid until 2028.
