Thich Nhat Hanh was quoted as saying: “It is possible that the next Buddha will not take the form of an individual. The next Buddha may take the form of a community, a community practicing understanding and loving kindness, a community practicing mindful living. This may be the most important thing we can do for the survival of the earth.” Jhamtse Gatsal is one such Community. The foundation of Jhamtse Gatsal's Learn, Reflect and Engage pedagogical model is educating the heart (compassion to nurture), mind (wisdom to guide) and body (skill to serve). The Community has a guiding set of core practices (family, education and healthcare), mindful living practices and sustainability practices that deeply reflect the words of Thich Nhat Hanh.
