I served in the United States Navy from February 2013 to August 2017. I started in Repair Division as Damage Control where I learned how to combat various types of fires. I also got sent to training to become a Hot Suitman for the ships Flight Deck team. I gained knowledge of the various components related to the ships fire fighting systems and capabilities and became a trusted individual when it came to the repairs of equipment. I eventually transitioned to become a Gas Turbine Systems Electrician Technician (GSE). I developed troubleshooting skills and gained the ability to read schematics and blueprints. I maintained my flight deck qualifications while simultaneously building knowledge around the ships generator system. In 2020 I was hired at CAPCO llc, now called VALOR Tactical. I started off in assembly for their BSU 33 project eventually transitioning into Quality Assurance as a destructive tester and then became the Machine Technician. I was able to use my troubleshooting skills to maintain equipment effectiveness and allow on time deliveries. During my time as a machine tech I began to learn how to tig weld while also learning how to become a leader. After two years, I was given the opportunity to lead second shift as the shift lead and the machine tech. I am now enrolled at Colorado Mesa University where I am studying for the Mechanical Engineering of Technologies program. I Left VALOR in October of 2023 to focus on being a student full time.
