Co-op Insurance had an aging and inflexible IT estate which was in need of transformation. In this role I supported the setup of a new business unit, defined technology strategies, implemented new modern technologies into the aging estate and helped stabilise critical systems that would have otherwise collapsed.I lead the technology design that underpinned.

In this capacity I was responsible for the development and support of all our.Net technologies. These ranged from CRM solutions to Shipping Tools to Financial systems. I inherited a number of these after the original projects implemented them and was responsible for the stabilisation and scalability of each, bringing them through the peak Christmas trading.

In this role I was responsible for the end to end flow of our route planning software. This was a very high visibility project across the operation and was aimed to deliver the ability for an IT system to help plan a delivery route, removing the need for a driver to know the territory they were delivering in incredibly well. In this role I helped develop the SIT methodologies for HDNL, moving away from the rigorous levels intitially to provide the desired agile and fast paced work required for the shape of the IT department. Many of these methodologies and approaches are still in use today. I helped train and build knowledge in to the team, giving new members a great deal of.

I joined AppLabs as a graduate test analyst. While in this role I went to several sites from leading investment banks to large parcel delivery firms. I was trained using ISEB methods, although AppLabs had created their own version of this. During this time I earned my ISEB qualification and earned a SQL Developer qualification.
