Mark is a global minerals and metals executive and champion for a net zero future. He has over 20 years' experience leading projects, operations, engineering, and business development having worked in progressively senior roles with some of the top mining companies in the world including BHP, Rio Tinto, Glencore, Teck, Freeport-McMoRan, Metso, and AtkinsRéalis. He holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Mining Engineering and a Master of Business Administration both from the University of British Columbia as well as executive education from Oxford and Aalto Universities and the Institute of Corporate Directors. He is a registered Professional Engineer in British Columbia, a Fellow of Engineers Canada, an Honorary Fellow of Geoscientists Canada, and a Fellow of the UK Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining. In addition, he was included on Business in Vancouver's 40 Under 40 list in 2021 and named one of the 500 Most Influential Business Leaders in BC in 2022 and 2023.Alongside his full-time work, Mark is well-known for his professional and community service having worked 13 years as a reserve officer in the Canadian Armed Forces while also sitting on boards and committees for numerous non-profit organizations advocating for youth, seniors, veterans, education, healthcare, and engineering. For this work, he has been recognized with the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal, the Sovereign’s Medal for Volunteers, and the Canadian Mineral Processors' Ray MacDonald Volunteer Award.

Due to its complexity and importance, in late-2022, I took on an executive oversight role on the project based out of the client's headquarters in London, UK assisting our project management, engineering, procurement, construction, and controls teams to ensure the safest and smoothest possible project ramp-up through mid-2024. During that time, project generated over $100 million CAD in revenue (~120% budget) with zero lost time injuries.Also a member of AtkinsRéalis' global minerals & metals senior leadership team responsible for overall market P&L, $300+ million CAD in annual revenue, and over 2,000 employees. -
