In mid-2022, Rio Tinto appointed AtkinsRéalis as its integrated delivery partner for the execution of its Simandou iron ore project in Guinea (West Africa). The project consists of a 60 million tonne per year mine, 600km mixed freight-commuter rail, and a 60 million tonne per year deep-water port with a capex of $27 billion CAD and life of mine of 26 years. Due to its complexity and importance, in late-2022, I took on an executive oversight role on the project based out of the client's headquarters in London, UK assisting our project management, engineering, procurement, construction, and controls teams to ensure the safest and smoothest possible project ramp-up through mid-2024. During that time, project generated over $100 million CAD in revenue (~120% budget) with zero lost time injuries.Also a member of AtkinsRéalis' global minerals & metals senior leadership team responsible for overall market P&L, $300+ million CAD in annual revenue, and over 2,000 employees.

Responsible for leading complex study, island, EPS, and EPC offers for complete concentrator, tailings management, and water treatment plants. Also a member of the global business line management team responsible for segment P&L, $200+ million CAD in annual revenue, and over 300 employees.

These include study, island, EPS, and EPC offers for complete concentrator, tailings management, and water treatment plants. Team achievements include $280 million CAD in technology and engineering sales (~170% budget) at a proposal conversion rate over 80%. Also a member of the global Mineral Processing Sales and Plant Solutions Business Line management teams contributing to P&L responsibility.

Supported customers as lead for over $150 million CAD in technology and engineering sales (~210% budget) including large projects for Goldcorp, Teck, First Majestic Silver, New Gold, and KAZ Minerals. Also responsible for management of Outotec's Vancouver office.

Member of the North American business development team responsible for technical sales support and proposal management for Outotec's mature and new-to-market crushing, grinding, and sorting technologies in the region. In a very tight capital market, managed over $40 million CAD in technology sales (~220% budget) including first major comminution projects in North America in over seven years. These included large SAG, ball, and stirred mills for Highland Valley Copper, Peñasquito, Çöpler, and Kitsault.

Member of the North American engineering team responsible for business development, process design, and technical support of internally-developed grinding and flotation technologies in the region. This included client relationship management and leading proposal teams resulting in over $10 million CAD in project sales (~170% budget) contributing to growth of the North American office from 4 to 25 employees. During project execution, was also responsible for process engineering and on-site commissioning of 12 IsaMills at Endako, Kişladağ, Gibraltar, Antapaccay, and Mt Milligan.

Highland Valley Copper Mine, Bc, Canada

Member of the mill technical development team responsible for daily and long-term operations and maintenance support in the areas of mine-to-mill, crushing, grinding, flotation, thickening, filtering, leaching, sampling, on-stream analysis, and metallurgical accounting. Also led and participated in numerous capital projects and studies including an 8-month scoping study and business case development for the $400 million CAD Mill Modernization Project, a strategic investment in the long-term sustainability of the mine, which was ultimately executed.
