These capabilities helped cities address the shocks and stresses of their current conditions, helped them plan forward to a more resilient future, and supported the global initiative of increasing city resilience.Previously Chief Economist of the National Infrastructure Simulation & Analysis Center at Sandia. There he assembled a suite of economics capabilities that informed the U.S. Department of Homeland Security on the risks to U.S. businesses of man-made and natural disasters; and developed new, path-breaking techniques for assessing the economic resilience of individual firms, supply chains, and ultimately the broader U.S. economy.More recently, has developed and deployed large-scale plant-level agent-based chemical supply chain models to the Dow Jones Chemical Market Analysis Group.Specialties: program development and management; economic impact analysis; benefit-cost analysis; agent-based economic modeling; engineering economics; visualization and software design.
