Hi, I am Markaiah Mathis. I am a student advocate all over the world but mainly in the Washington DC area. Advocating for students’ rights, and mental health and finding better resources for students to help them be on track for success. I have worked with many different organizations such as Inspired Teaching, Marrion Barry Youth Leadership, DC state board of education, and the National Honor Society on many topics across the board. Currently, I am finishing my last year as a senior at KIPP DC College Preparatory attending all AP classes while also working with Graham Holdings as an HR associate. I have joined the GHC Team as an apprentice and worked in areas such as bringing attention to Mental health and outlets, Resume analysis, Helping with referral Programs & policies, and multiple other things. This year I am working with Seeding Disruption Remix, an organization fellowship for racial justice, and the Student Advisory Committee of the DC state board of education. I am inspired to continue to spread mental health across the world and advocate for women's & children's rights. Going into my career I will be a Neonatologist one day increasing the rate of POC premature childbirth rate and decreasing the WOC death rate during birth.
