● Within the Economic Policy unit of The Cabinet Office, I manage the coordinated development of energy policy with relevant Queensland Government line agencies and Queensland Treasury.● Build productive and collaborative working relationships at a high level across agencies and support line agencies to ensure whole of government priorities are understood and taken into account.● Develop timely and well-researched submissions and briefs on complex issues, across the energy space.● Work with external stakeholders to gain a deeper understand of contemparary and emerging issues and to proactively respond where necessary.● Ensure cabinet and legislative processes are understood, applied, and deployed effectively to implement policy.

• Working within the Networks and Demand Response group, Energy Networks and Regulation at Queensland State Government’s Department of Energy and Water Supply.• Primarily a policy development and project delivery role.• Specific focus on smart meter policy, demand management, and implementation of national reforms including AEMC’s Power of Choice which aim to increase Demand Side participation in the electricity market.• Sit on national and state working groups to advise on policy development and NEM rule-changes.

Responsible for delivery of the Carbon Emissions Reduction Target (CERT); the UK Government’s primary policy instrument for reducing carbon emissions from GB domestic properties.• One of a team of four that had oversight of over 200 energy efficiency schemes undertaken by energy retailers, working with them to design their schemes in a way that was complaint with regulation.• Liaised with the Department of the Environment and Climate Change (DECC) on policy matters for example on ministerial briefs, policy development work, and resolving policy implementation issues.• Worked with retailers, product manufacturers, industry groups and research houses to introduce innovative technologies to the program. I determined the criteria and evidence base required for products to qualify.• Helped review fraud and risk across the program and also wrap up an external audit of energy suppliers, agreeing the action required from retailers to maintain compliance.

The Carbon Disclosure Project is a Not for Profit that collates, analyses and publishes carbon emissions and management data from corporations worldwide. This role provided support to design a new initiative to track emissions from cities worldwide.• Identified, and then met with, potential program sponsors, for example investment banks and insurance firms.• Provided analysis that demonstrated the links between a city’s climate change strategy and risk exposure and insurance and investment outcomes.• Organised a workshop for insurers and investors to secure their commitment to the programme

Delivered the “Climate Finance” project at this well respected UK sustainability consultancy. The project examined and piloted innovative funding models for energy efficiency and renewables projects.• Completed research and analysis, including interviewing experts from councils and UK think tanks.• Co-authored the final report and developed a delivery process for FFTF to use with clients.
