The types of systems developed were of a full scope and included desktop, services, database, web and mobile.There were two significant projects I initiated and lead. The first was architecture and development for a configurable rules based workflow system to automate the billing and payment processing for freight movements. This new system provided an integration and was positioned between the brokerage system and the ERP system. It provided comprehensive automation and management for the billing, payment and general accounting teams. When fully implemented once documents were received the system automatically processed validation procedures for more than 80% of the transaction volume without human touch. The remaining volume was distributed logically to staff where exceptions were clearly identified and could be expeditiously resolved through an easy to use system designed to handle all the processes needed. This system saved the company $10s of millions over time (per the CFO) as the transaction volume grew rapidly. The next project was the architecture and development for a system to prioritize and distribute scheduled outbound calls to carriers checking on freight status. The system distributed calls to call center staff based on configurable rules following organizational and customer priority assignments. It provided a comprehensive log to better track call center activity and performance. A feature that was added later was the ability to send text messages to carriers requesting call backs. This system substantially improved the check call resolution time and greatly reduced the need to make repetitive calls to carriers and made sure the most important calls were made as close to schedule as possible, -
