Implemented Box.com’s enterprise file sharing tool for Southwest knowledge workers to securely have access to their documents from any supported computer/device.• Worked with app teams to get their COTS mobile app integrated into Southwest’s security systems and deployable through our enterprise internal app store (Business Intelligence, LMS, file sharing, etc.)• Supported the Electronic Flight Bag (iPads for Pilots) Team in their deployment of their devices into Airwatch and deploying their applications through the enterprise app store on to the pilot’s iPads.

    • Managed a team of 10 people doing investment projects and baseline support work for Southwest’s employee portal (WebSphere Portal), Documentum, SharePoint, Google Search Appliances, Quickbase, and wiki.• Managed internal employee portal product serving 35,000 employees. This portal is critical for Southwest’s daily business as it contains content and applications that operational departments use throughout the day and is the primary communication channel for all employees. This portal is required for operations and takes over 70K logins from 25K unique users per day.• Delivered Southwest’s first B2E mobile application providing employees the ability to book non-rev travel and also check flight bookings through their phones. Other features included the employee blog (including mp3’s and videos), company directory, profile updates (including photos), and key operating KPI’s. The mobile app was delivered on iPhone, Android, BlackBerry, and mobile web using the Kony multichannel platform.• Delivered a successful WebSphere portal upgrade from 5.1 to 6.1 while moving the platform to VMWare. Delivered on budget and cut the licensing costs in half.• Successfully delivered (on time and on budget) blogging and multimedia capability to the employee portal to increase the amount of 2-way communication between employees and the company. Project included working with a professional services group for development and hosting the blog at an offsite hosting provider.• Delivered multimedia into our employee portal along with wide area network (WAN) optimization (Cisco WAE’s) to ensure multimedia was cached at our 69 remote airports. This ensured a good video experience while not impacting the slower network links at the stations.

Service provided operations as both CORBA and Webservice endpoints for integration with many different types of clients (java, .net, unix c++).• Led projects to integrate applications to the current Identity Management system. This included working with application teams and providing documentation, code samples, and technical direction.• Developed a framework to have java applications expose their business methods through CORBA objects to java and c++ clients. This framework removed the complexity of setting up POA policies, creating CORBA object references, binding references into the name service, and registering IONA specific server information. This framework also provided the remote management interface (JMX) so the server could be started, stopped, and queried remotely.• Assisted other application team debug problems with their applications (WebSphere and stand alone). Common scenarios included classloading issues, managing certificates, making current services (CORBA) available to applications in WebSphere, and WebSphere deployment issues (including JACL script automation).
