Tour De France ReporterBbc Radio 5 Live; Bbc Local Radio; Bbc Sport Website Mar 2014 - Jul 2014• Reporting on the Tour de France when it started in Yorkshire for BBC local radio and providing interviews with riders & team principals for BBC 5 Live during the race in France.• This role included coming up with and reporting on more than 50 original cycling-related stories for all daytime programme on BBC Radio Sheffield and providing live 2 ways for other BBC local radio stations.• In charge of devising and setting up an 8 hour all-speech outside broadcast for BBC Radio Sheffield’s coverage of Stage 2 of the Tour de France including choosing and recceing locations for 10 reporters.• Producing and co-presenting a week of Cycle Heaven evening programmes on BBC Radio Sheffield about the sport of cycling which were the most listened to programmes in BBC local radio on the iPlayer. This included a live show in front of a 100-strong audience of listeners at Sheffield Hallam University with some of the biggest names in British cycling. Another of my programmes was on the downfall of Lance Armstrong including exclusive interviews with Tour de France winner Greg LeMond; David Walsh, the journalist who exposed Armstrong as a cheat; and Jamie Burrow, his former team-mate in the US Postal Team who spoke for the first time about Armstrong’s confession of guilt.• Subsequently reporting every year at the Tour de France for 5 Live and the BBC Sport website where I interview riders, team management and British cycling fans.

Producer, Face The FactsBbc Radio 4 Feb 2013 - May 2013Selected among journalists across BBC local radio who applied to produce a 30 minute programme for Face The Facts on BBC Radio 4. I investigated the impact of the closure of the Remploy factories which provided sheltered employment for disabled people. I travelled to Wigan, Swansea and Darlington with presenter John Waite and uncovered serious concerns about the propriety of the Remploy factory sell-off programme and examined the employment prospects of the disabled ex Remploy staff. My programme was broadcast on 15th May 2013 and the issue was raised at PMQs on the same day. My story was previewed on the You & Yours programme and I provided audio and illustrated 2 ways for 15 breakfast and mid morning BBC local radio programmes. I wrote an in-depth feature for the BBC News website on my investigation which was featured prominently on the UK homepage. I have gone on to do paid work at You & Yours for my original stories including on the DVLA and the MOD.
