Reporting to the Head of Client Risk Assessment, my key responsibilities included:-Overseeing and enhancing the quality of outsourced activity from Service Partners primarily across Transaction Monitoring and PEP controls. -Key stakeholder engagement to ensure that we are aware of processes, risks and emerging issues. Clearly defining SLAs and Key Indicators to measure success.-Deep dives to understand the data being presented to ensure that SLA are fit for purpose and that wider reporting is accurate and consistent.-Implementing new processes to improve relationships with Service partners, key examples of this would be developing a PEP extension matrix and building automated dashboards which saved substantial time within respective teams.-Creating training modules to improve the knowledge and understanding of Anti Money Laundering analysts looking at Business Banking transactions. This has been particularly successful by utilising the knowledge of industry experts within the Risk Assessment Unit.-Leading the Business Banking Cash Forum, providing a lens on previously unseen cash data and Financial Crime exposure. This involved full engagement with external parties such as the FCA and the Post Office.

Reporting to the Community Banking Director for North West London, my key responsibilities and achievements included:-Responsible for performance and maintenance of 5 high profile Retail branches in the local market (Kensington, South Kensington, Notting Hill Gate, Earls Court and Gloucester Road)-Alongside the branch staff, responsible for the management of Mortgage Advisors, Premier Relationship Managers and Barclays Business team. -Delivering commercial performance through defining, reviewing and delivering a balanced Market Business Plan. Market performance doubled under my tenure and achieved through analysis of MI data and subsequent coaching of colleagues in recognising latent needs and meeting market potential.-Developing the team of leaders and colleagues to their full potential through regular observation, coaching and active management (including 1:1s, Performance and Development conversations, colleague observations)

The ‘Go To’ team are the 23 best performing colleagues within the community and will go on to Leadership and specialist roles. I look after their coaching and development and speak with them weekly about performance and areas they can develop.We work closely with the Premier and Mortgage teams within Barclays and ensure we are meeting a range of customer needs across London. Having looked after the team for over two years means I have seen many of them get promoted into senior roles which have given me a great sense of pride in the work we do within the North West London Community. These colleagues are from various backgrounds and various parts of London which has presented a great challenge in itself. Weekly conference calls and Monthly meetings have maintained the team ethos and I ensure that I try and dedicate time to colleagues when they need support with their development. Ensuring they are consistently performing is essential as they represent about 30% of the Company performance across the community of 180+ colleagues.

Ealing Market

My role here was to manage the Personal Bankers of the Ealing Market. 12 of whom were in my local team and 8 of whom were based at other sites. I was tasked with ensuring the Ealing Market made a significant contribution towards Company performance for London and the Home Counties. This involved not only managing my immediate team but also analysing markets with the specialist Premier and Mortgage teams. I utilised market insights around colleague performance and observations identified areas of development to work on. Within my two years in this role I was both a runner up and winner of the yearly Barclays Company Award which recognised an outstanding contribution towards Company performance.

My initial role within Barclays was focused on customer service, client retention and gaining new business in three main areas of Lending, Investments and Protection as a Personal Banker. I was regulated by Barclays and the FCA to speak to Clients about products such as ISA’s, Loans, Life Insurance and other key financial products. This was done within a regimented framework of following security and sanctions policies to minimise fraud and financial risk to the bank. I worked two different markets during this role and was promoted to a Premier Manager (B5) before I was asked to become a Company Manager for the Ealing Market.

One key achievement is that alongside my day job,I have run my own business called the The Beer Orb which was a product I developed and sold throughout Europe. I retailed online through our own website and also sold in bulk to larger buyers like Play.com and Amazon. Starting the company from scratch developed lots of new skills and gave me great insight into the challenges faced by small business start ups. I eventually sold the company in 2013 but still keep a keen eye on the industry and future opportunities

At Real Resourcing I recruited within the IT sector specifically for the Java and C++ Markets and my main duty involved the Business development of these areas. It was my role to place candidates in positions ranging from Software Engineers to Head Developers and Architects in niche roles within the south of the UK.I was set strict targets each month and my job was focused on meeting clients and candidates on a regular basis and gaining exclusive commitment to use our services. I also had to negotiate rates and terms of business with clients and made several high profile placements within the company, my highest bill was ₤15,000 and my average upon leaving was around ₤8,000. This was all billed between rates that were always negotiated by me of between 20- 30% of the positions starting salary. I interviewed candidates ranging from relatively Junior to Management /Director Level on a daily basis and gauged their suitability for each client. Building rapport at this stage is what helped me make my placements as I was keen to find out what motivated each candidate and I genuinely took an interest which I feel made all the difference.

(Gap Year During University Study)My role at TNT involved creating interest for Courier services within my assigned area of West London and then selling Courier Contracts to prospective clients for a fixed term of service. This was achieved by initially researching leads and developing new Business by making appointments with clients and then attending to sell logistic services specific to their needs.As I was relatively new to the Sales World I received vast training in many different forms of selling and in the developing of client relationships for long term business. During my time here I honed some of these skills and as a result built up a strong client base which saw continued growth within my assigned area which was unprecedented for somebody who had only been there a year.
