I have spent over 20 years in the turf care industry the majority of which has been within the professional sport sector, most recently at Crystal Palace Football Club as Head Groundsman. My achievements throughout my career have been due to a combination of; determination, hard work, acknowledging & learning from my mistakes and my drive to continually improve my knowledge base. I believe that no matter how experienced one becomes, there is always more to be learnt. I have always worked hard to maintain my professional development to continually improve the depth and range of my skills. I believe this is vital to meet challenges presented through increasing levels of responsibility, much of my experience being within difficult financial environments, such as the period of administration at Crystal Palace. My strengths include; planning & preparation for specific projects & annual maintenance and staff management & development, all key components for success in any organisation or professionAs a manager, I consider strategic planning for any long-term improvement programme vital. In particular the accurate costing out of necessary works, comprehensively presented to senior management to enable informed decision making as without this there is a risk of declining standards.During my time at Crystal Palace FC I was able to plan and implement a rolling programme of continual improvement to the club's playing surfaces. After 9 great years in South London I decided to take the opportunity offered by Complete Weed Control to manage Cheshire, Staffs and Shropshire territories and move back north.
