• Cultivate relationships with our customers, business partners, and internal stakeholders• Find new opportunities for increasing our impact on the visually impaired community• Establish APH’s shared vision across the company by building consensus on strategic priorities• With a “continuous improvement” mindset, and using the latest NPD and agile project management methodologies, oversee portfolios that result in impactful products that transform lives of the visually impaired• Develop new processes and procedures that improve efficiency and quality of operations that lead to the most efficient product development and lowest number of defects• Manage team of 20+ Product Managers, Product Specialists, and administrative staff• Identify and remove barriers to product development• Communicate strategy, product roadmap, and progress to stakeholders• Predict, identify, and mitigate project financial risk• Manage $6 million department budget• Negotiate contracts and honorariums; evaluate bids for services, manage RFPs in collaboration with affected departments• Liaise between the Product Innovation Department and all other departments (Business Development, Finance, Accounting, Marketing and Sales, IT, Production)• Lead, supervise, motivate, train and develop department staff• Attend consumer conferences, seminars, and key meetings to promote awareness of our solutions• Ensure compliance with all external review expectations, including Department of Education Quota, GEPA, and EPAC recommendations• Define and measure product success and excellence metrics, key results to focus and prioritize the highest impact efforts
