Aircraft engineering supervisor with over 15 years’ military service, 3 years’ experience in the role of Technical Author, tasked with providing ASD STE100 compliant technical documentation to the 1710 NAS aircraft modifications department based in Portsmouth. Now seeking a new challenge and the opportunity to further my career, capitalising on the experience I have gained in the field of Technical Authoring.Current Technical Experience and Skills:• Authored and delivered procedural documentation for multiple aircraft modification projects including Merlin Mk2 / Mk4, Chinook, Wildcat and the BAE Hawk in support of Design Team (DT) organisations. Writing concise, quality driven documentation ensuring compliance with Military Aviation Authority (MAA) and modifications department policies.• Interrogate and analyse aircraft specific IETPs along with online and hard copy publications for specific procedural requirements and references. Collate detailed information provided from design drawings, Trial Installations and the Safety Assessment Report (SAR). • Effectively communicate with Project Managers, Designers and Safety Teams, conduct meetings with stakeholders in respect to task progress, logistical requirements, forecast of potential issues, constantly assess and prioritise workload to meet installation deadlines and achieve task milestones. Participate and contribute to Hazard Identification and Safety Review Meetings in support of the Safety Team.• Visited sites across the UK in support of Trial and Proof Installations. Prove the modification procedure and amend as required in collaboration with the DT, designers, engineers and operators. Additionally authorised and have completed the installation of both mechanical components and electrical cable assemblies to Merlin aircraft.• Quality check peer documentation for procedural correctness, use of ASD STE100 and formatting.• Trained and developed new incumbents to the role, capitalising on the Defence Train the Trainer and Defence Workplace Trainer career courses.• Developed key relationships with industry partners to manage the logistical requirements and procurement of component parts to support the modifications process. Liaise with external industry both local and overseas for the procurement of AS 9100 and ISO 9001 certified parts.• Conduct ISO 9001 Quality Assurance (QA) audits on squadron processes and procedures, ensuring compliance and continued certification.• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point to produce accurate and professional documentation.
