Predominantly on the managed security services, but also on the Visibility and Acceleration portfolio.I am responsible for providing training and product updates to the Network Engineers and working with the Product Managers to define the services on Blue Coat Products.I have also worked with Internet and Mobile Service Providers to develop services based on Blue Coat Proxy SG and CacheFlow solutions. This includes Caching HTTP content and Parental Control to deliver Value Added Services. I would work as an interface between the Service Provider, their customers, and Blue Coat product management to deliver new features and products.When Blue Coat launched the CacheFlow 5000, I produced the training for Blue Coat Systems Engineers and Partner SEs. I implemented a training environment to ensure SEs and customers could get hand's on training on the CF5000 globally. I also defined the standards for high availability and load balancing in a Carrier network using L4-7 Switches and CF5000 hardware.

I extensively utilised Network Associates Sniffer and Infinistream to packet capture and diagnose trading and market data connectivity issues.I implemented and supported monitoring & alerting infrastructure for the London datacenters for the critical network connectivity.

This allowed for the provision of highly available and resilient webservers and proxy infrastructureThis role included tuning the WebServers and the Application servers, and understanding the relationships between them, and the backend DataBases. This resulted in recommendations to developers and the Network Architects on how to develop the systems for better performance and resilience.As part of this role, I continued in the support of MS Proxy, but also the migration to Blue Coat Proxy SG and the standardisation on this within HSBC.

I joined HSBC as a graduate in September 1998. I was responsible for the build and Support of Windows NT 3.5, Windows NT 4, and later Windows 2000 Servers, and the business applications running on them.I implemented Microsoft Proxy for HSBC Investment Bank, providing the initial internet access for the London business, which included the URL Filtering and Virus scanning requirements.During 1999 I was part of the Y2K project to ensure all systems were correctly patched and capable of working over the Year 2000 changeover and the subsequent leap year requirements in February 2000.I implemented one of the first HSBC websites for the Investment Bank capable of responding to Fixed Income bids.
