Interim Vascular Network Transformation Programme Director
Bodelwyddan, Wales, United Kingdom
I was employed in the Vascular Network to develop the Vascular Services across 3 hospitals in a hub and spoke model. My key achievements included:Led a cross service team to design, implement (inside of 5 weeks) and embed a clinical pathway, to allow critical patients to be sent straight to life & limb saving treatment rather than waiting within A&E.Developed an accurate method of tracking patients utilising Microsoft Excel. Data entry provided key performance indicators by visually representing, against a pathway, the number of patients at each stage, thus enabling them to quickly identify process blockers, allocate resources to resolve and improve patient care. I have expanded the premise of this tracker pan North Wales across multiple services.Compiling and briefing on monthly board reports for public and internal distribution to the deputy Chief Executive on the progress of Vascular transformation in line with Royal College of Surgeons and Vascular Quality Panel recommendations. This resulted in accurate, up-to-date information being presented to Welsh Government.I identified that the current vascular service transformation plan was not accurately tracking progress or providing any evidence of completion. Reformed the plan to a coherent document providing snapshot detail to the C-suite on the progress of actions with detail and evidence embedded/linked within. This provided the C-suite with more confidence in the accuracy of their briefs to Welsh Government.I Set out a clear 3–18-month strategy with realistic timescales setting out accountability, governance infrastructures and measurable deliverables (including expected improvements in clinical outcomes).Commended by the Health Inspectorate Wales for the rapid improvement in the service delivery and documentation produced to ensure its continued delivery once the interims have left.
