As Founding Partner and Managing Director, I have worked over the past several years to take Winding Road Distilling Co. from concept to reality. In my capacity as Managing Director, I oversee every aspect of the company's operations including production, HR, purchasing, capital expenditure, compliance and licencing matters, strategic planning, and financing. I also contribute to our marketing and communications strategy and branding. As an aviation industry executive, I proudly served as CEO for the Australian Warbirds Association Ltd (AWAL) from 2013 through to early 2021. It was a true privilege for me to represent the organisation's members and interests. AWAL is the non-profit self-administering body for operations of Limited category aircraft (warbirds) in Australia, carrying out its functions through delegations issued to it by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA). In my capacity as CEO I worked with our members, Government, and other stakeholders in the aviation industry to ensure our community adhered to the highest standards of safety and professionalism and enjoyed the best operating conditions possible. I represented our members and their interests to several peak industry bodies and the media. In conjunction with the association's board of directors, I also oversaw our strategic planning, finances, fundraising, member outreach, and matters of governance. I have served as an industry consultant to CASA and was appointed for a two-year term to their Aviation Safety Advisory Advisory Panel. This very prestigious role on the industry's peak advisory body involved providing high-level advice to CASA's Director and Executive team. I remain an active consultant in the aviation sector, most recently serving as an advisor to the Pacific Air Show. In addition, I am currently serving as a Director for Northern Rivers Food and serve on several committees within Australia's distilling industry.Additionally, I have years of experience in the SME sector as a Managing Director and Executive. Serving in this capacity has given me the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in similar roles, with a firm understanding of the unique challenges presented by a multi-disciplinary environment.
