I'm an experienced software leader capable of working at the technical coal-face, executive-level and anywhere in between. I was instrumental in helping both my previous companies grow from start-ups to successful businesses over a number of years and at Redgate this resulted in wide recognition for the quality of our staff, products, practices and culture (the leading UK software company in the Sunday Times Best Companies for several years). I take pride in my highly-collaborative style, positive attitude, strong belief in continuous improvement & experimentation and my genuine desire to help the people around me succeed and enjoy their work.Some of the most interesting things I’ve done are: - Introduced agile practices and visual management techniques to both Redgate & Neurascript/Kofax. Redgate won the "Best use of agile in the private sector" award in the 2012 UK Agile Awards. - Lead the development of several products which went on to have revenue of many million dollars. - Lead a successful 250 person company re-organisation with only a weekend to prepare. - Developed a wide range of innovative tools & practices, including agile L&D, continuous improvement for managers and agile reporting. Many of these have been picked up by other organisations. - Designed and ran numerous business & strategy reviews at Redgate, working closely with the CEO & executive team. - Conceived and delivered the original “10 geeks in 5 weeks” recruitment campaign which broke the recruitment norms & changed technology recruitment in the city. - Coached, mentored and supported the personal development of many colleagues & friends, helping them to take on roles they hadn’t previously considered.
