On-Site Specialty Cleaning & Restoration was established with the mission to restore people’s lives after devastating fire and water damage. We carefully clean the contents of customers’ homes, and we store in our warehouses their contents during the cleaning and rebuilding of the impacted areas of their homes. I came to the company as its first CFO, streamlining the accounting function, developing policies and procedures for the department, as well as full responsibility for the accounting department and financial analysis and reporting. I take an active role in advising ownership on costing and expansion plans.

Hansons is a home improvement company specializing in window replacement, roofing, and siding. It is a private equity portfolio company. I entered upon the departure of the previous controller. I helped streamline accounting procedures, cutting length of time to close books. Encouraged and trained accounting team members and provided support to CFO. Improved and wrote financial reports using Sage Intacct. I also monitored cash flow and was responsible for various weekly and monthly reports to the private equity group.

I led the expansion of gross revenue from $63M to $77M over seven years. Created a National Sales program with increases of 98% and 167% over the last two years. Led company through attainment of SQF Level II certification. Directed multiple union contract negotiations. Oversaw a 7 year capital improvement campaign, reducing waste by 30% and increasing productivity by 10%. Created highly visible and effective social media presence - rated 12th best in Michigan. I refinanced the company debt in 2011, moving $6M from ABL to a mid-market account. Directed the installation of new accounting software systems, first for the delivery side of the business then for the Financial Reporting software. Oversaw streamlining of the processes in the finance department, cutting length of monthly closing by 5 days. Financial reports were 4 months behind when I arrived. After catching up and reporting results, there was an improvement in the strained relationship with the company's lending institution. Reviewed and put into place new insurance coverage saving $2M over seven years and at the same time reducing risk. I managed extremely tight cash flow through a plant modernization plan and the addition of a new product line.Key achievements: Insurance review, improved lending relationship, plant modernization
