About Mark Badham
RESEARCH: My research centres broadly around digital corporate communication and public relations. I have published research on the Digital Media-Arena (DMA) Framework (a new way of looking at strategic-participative digital communication). Other research has been published on 4 news media roles in digital mass communication processes, government communication and trust (measured at 4 levels) during a global pandemic, organisations' relationship management strategies, and the Organization-Stakeholder Love (OSL) Framework (how and why organisations are seen to love their stakeholders). I am Co-Editor of the Handbook on Digital Corporate Communication published in 2023 by Edward Elgar Publishing, which is aimed primarily at scholars of corporate communication across the globe. I am also a co-host of a podcast called 'Digital Corporate Communication - Dialogues with Scholars' launched in June 2023 on Spotify, Apple Podcasts and Google Podcasts. TEACHING: I have 20+ years of academic teaching experience in corporate communication, public relations, organisational communication, government relations/public affairs, communication campaign strategy, media relations and business communication. In addition to Leeds Beckett University, I have taught courses at Jyvaskyla School of Business & Economics (Finland), Aalto University School of Business (Finland), Helsinki School of Business (Finland), Estonian Business School (Estonia), LCC International University (Lithuania), ISM University of Management and Economics (Lithuania), Pforzheim University (Germany), and Bond University (Australia) since 1995. PROFESSIONAL COMMUNICATION: I have 20+ years of experience working in professional corporate communication roles for corporations, politicians, political parties, governments and NGOs in Australia. My role involved: • managing the establishment phase of this national 'association' - setting up policies and procedures for the new organization; • formation of an annual national event; • production of internal and external communication systems (including the building of the ACC website and subsequent regular electronic newsletters); • responding to media enquiries;• advising and occasionally assisting member churches with community relations, government relations, media relations and publicity. My role also involved coordinating a $1 million project in which gifts were produced, packed, wrapped and distributed to churches in the USA. During this time I was also editor of NOW! Magazine (an Assemblies of God quarterly publication with a national circulation of 40,000) and Assistant Editor of Leadership NOW! Magazine (an Assemblies of God quarterly publication to ministers and church leaders).
