Key Achievements:• Produced QBE’s DW&BI strategy, delivery roadmap and implementation approach• Produced the DW&BI solutions architecture including data, application and infrastructure• Provided architecture and technical leadership during the full project life-cycle• Canonical message model and messaging model development• Defined a data quality framework, developed its business case and ran a product selection• Reference / master data management strategy reviewAs the lead architect of a £20m strategic data warehouse Mark defined and owned the DW & BI technical strategy reporting to the EI Programme Manager. Having conducted an initial health check Mark developed the strategy, target architecture and roadmap. Leading a team of DW & BI architects, including those from third party suppliers (Accenture and Moore Stephens), Mark was responsible for the database, application and infrastructure architecture including ETL, data models, data quality, reconciliation, presentation, visualisation and hardware. Mark also ran the EI Architecture Group where key design decisions were discussed and agreed. As Information Architect on the £100m+ Springboard IT change programme Mark led the design of a Canonical Data Model used to standardise messages and help facilitate a flexible services architecture. He also helped establish XML/message model design, messaging principles and a governance process.Mark was also responsible for architecting QBE’s Data Quality Framework which included establishing a governance process, defining metrics, monitoring / reporting, and tool selection / deployment of Data Flux.
