Startup Quest is a 10-week hands-on learning experience for unemployed and underemployed educated professionals. The program provides an introduction to the processes required to form a startup company and develop a commercialization strategy for innovative technologies.My team developed a business plan to market a device that measures total acidity of particulates in the air and we took first place in the competition.

Reestablished the Bureau as an effective regulatory agency in partnership with all affected stakeholders. Reduced the delinquency rates of elevator licenses from over 20% to less than 5% by helping delinquent owners come into voluntary compliance. Motivated and guided office and field staff to ensure all statutory responsibilities were met. Developed rules and statutory changes to increase the safety of the riding public while limiting the regulatory burden on the elevator industry and elevator owners. Responsible for the day to day operation of the district office which served a nine county area of southwest Florida. This included ensuring that all departmental and divisional policies were adhered to, all required inspections completed and that all complaint and service requests were processed in an timely manner. Other duties included the training of field and office staff, assist inspection staff in the field when needed and act as liaison for the division with the numerous governmental and industry entities located in the area.
