After completing a B.S. in Civil Engineering at Rice University, followed by an M.S. in Engineering/Structures at The University of Texas at Austin, I joined L.A. Fuess Partners in 1984. This opened the doors to a rich, expansive structural engineering career designing buildings of far-reaching variety, complexity, and beauty. I count myself immeasurably fortunate to have learned the practice of structural engineering in this environment, surrounded by a broad team of exceptional engineers, mentored by our firm’s founder, Larry Fuess, inspired by his bold achievements, design talent, engineering expertise, and service-focused mindset.Variety and complexity continue to be consistent themes across my many project opportunities. Highlights include Museum Tower in Dallas, Southern Methodist University’s Robson and Lindley Aquatics Center, The Greer Garson Theater, South Dallas Police Substation, CityPlace West Village, The Joule Hotel Expansion, The Woodlands Mall, major additions to Plano Medical Center, and extensive work with historic buildings, including reconstruction of the heavily fire-damaged Hill County Courthouse.I’ve had the great fortune to collaborate with a multitude of talented architects, creative and ambitious developers and building owners, and an array of other engineering experts and design specialists.
