Leading hardware development of a core radio platform for ISR applications. The core platform is being designed for use in a family of products. Leading the hardware design, development, validation, and factory introduction.Other accomplishments include: * Led hardware development for an updated, dual channel wide-band radio system. Worked with Program Management and other organizations to satisfy government contract deliverables and to refine system requirements. Ensured successful production and certification of all necessary hardware for the program.* Led project with budget in excess of $8M. Worked with major international outsource partner to develop and deliver soldier radio hardware and software capabilities and new hardware platform variants and product improvements. Defined and managed the transition from outsource development to the internal manufacturing plant.* Worked with engineering, product management, and customer representative teams to define and architect a sophisticated range extension capability for VHF manpack radios. Complete project involved a $2M development effort. Complied with defined ISO and CMM standards.* Worked with a small team to rework internal process procedures (documentation and training material) resulting in compliance with CMMI standards* Worked with engineering and factory teams to develop and deliver a solution to a major hardware subsystem obsolescence. Project involved a $500K software development and test effort. Complied with defined ISO and CMM standards.* Led a multifunction team consisting of purchasing, manufacturing, quality, and engineering to cut-in design changes to improve yields in product assembly. Led initiatives to improve factory test yields by more than 10%. Developed and executed a plan that met target product recurring cost reduction of 10%.

Responsible for project management to deliver products to customers involving software, electrical, and mechanical engineering efforts. Worked with sales as a technical liaison to customers helping define product requirements and establish product specifications that meet the customers’ needs. Developed project budgets and development plans to meet customer requirements, and developed proposals that go to our customers. I have led several projects, small to medium sized, some involving everything from design to manufacturing.Specific accomplishments include: * Helped build the internal engineering organization from one full time employee to a peak staff of 15–20 software, electrical, and mechanical engineers.* Successfully completed the development of the embedded firmware for a new desktop inkjet printer for a large printer manufacturer. Project was originally being developed overseas but was failing. As part of this project, I developed a bidirectional print head firing algorithm for a desktop ink jet printer and a generalized algorithm for image banding in an inkjet system.* Built the IS infrastructure to support our local office of up to 25 employees including phone system, servers, and client PC installations.* Developed resolution enhancement look up table (LUT) for color laser printer. Delivered capability to a major printing manufacturer for a production printer.* Managed and helped develop an industrial inkjet based fixture for the creation of OLED substrates. Product delivered successfully to customer. Product involved Windows based control software, custom electronics, and mechanical apparatus.

Managed development of wide format printing solutions. This involved the support of existing client and embedded software and product electronics & the development of new product capabilities. Developments included both internal and external development resources. Developed connectivity strategy for initial digital engineering copier offering.Specific accomplishments include:* Successful concept, development, and delivery of a complete replacement solution of a previously obsolete product to our major partner in Japan (Fuji Xerox). Product development was largely outsourced to an outside company that I researched and engaged myself. Developed operating and service documentation for the device.* Successfully managed the transfer of all product development activities from a Xerox group in San Jose, CA to Rochester, NY. Transfer involved hiring an engineering staff in Rochester and taking development ownership of all electronics and software developed by a staff of over 25 engineers in San Jose. The transition management comprehended all aspects of product delivery including manufacturing, marketing, engineering, quality assurance, and customer documentation.* Worked with international technical support leaders to establish an improved process for providing technical assistance to international customers of our engineering printing products. Established a positive relationship with field technical staff and successfully engaged the new process.* Inherited and successfully completed the management and delivery of an Adobe Postscript laser printer for engineering applications.* Established online technical support capability working with the IS department, and through the development of HTML documentation and downloads for customers.* Successfully completed the development of a Windows based printer manager program that was uncompleted by a delinquent software contractor.
