As a seasoned servant leader of strategic communications and public affairs, Mark is a change agent who develops, leads and empowers teams to make a difference by gaining trust, staying close to the business, and always maintaining a growth mindset. Mark dreams of being a best-selling author, but until then his talent for writing has helped make him a valued business partner, a cogent storyteller who can cut through the clutter to make a meaningful point. A true believer in data and analytics, his experience includes leading external and internal communications, employee engagement, ESG, public policy, government relations, community and social impact, and philanthropy. Mark’s approach has been inspired by the philosophies of the visionary founders with whom Mark has had the privilege of working, like Chobani’s founder and CEO, Hamdi Ulukaya, whose ethos is that business can and should be a catalyst for positive change and Eva Moskowitz, founder and CEO of Success Academy, whose grit and determination is creating opportunity for thousands of New York City students from underserved communities and leading education innovation and reform in America. Mark has been toiling in public affairs, communications, and policy for all of his 30+-year career. A Dickinson College philosophy major, Mark began his career in presidential politics, worked in the Pacific Rim for a territorial governor, and on the Hill for a Member of Congress. A father of five, Mark left public service for the corporate world at his wife’s urging shortly before their fourth child was born 20 years ago. He and his wife, though sometimes weary, are active in their community of Long Valley, NJ where they are also the founders of the anti-addiction/mental health non-profit, Joshua’s Peace, in honor of their late son.
