World Radio Switzerland is the Swiss Broadcast Corporation's national English language radio station - formed after the takeover of the former WRG FM. I hosted the 'Breakast Show' which involved news coverage, interviewing, and collated the latest financial information.

Radio Frontier is the only English commercial radio in Switzerland. We are designed as a daily media service for the large international community in the Geneva-Lausanne and surrounding France region. We provide our audiences with live presenter-led programmes, local news, music, competitions, interviews, audience interaction, community coverage, what’s on guides, sport, culture, society and business programming. We started broadcasting in June 2011 and already have a large and loyal following.

WRG FM was Geneva's commercial local radio station. I was re-employed by WRG to take over the Breakfast Show and revamp the output after a couple of years of stagnation. In that time, ratings improved and the station won the Swiss award of 'Radio Station of the Year'. A particularly welcome award as the station broadcasts in English - not even an official Swiss language! I was in charge of music policy the other presenters as well as my own show. WRG also extended its profile by organising events for the local international community - especially very popular comedy shows.I also was heavily involved in client relations and in charge of commercial production and scheduling.

Mobile Channel Network was a high-tech start up working with mobile phone operators. The company provided SMS news and sports bulletins and ringtones supplied to other media partners such as MTV. It also launched a breakthrough service in Ibiza during the summer months offering an advertising platform to night clubs and high profile DJs. It also worked very closely with the UK version of the TV show Big Brother. The company had offices in Switzerland, the UK and Finland.

In addition to presenting, I co-ordinated commercial production and worked closely with clients. For many, this was their first time advertsing on radio - and also in English.

Part of the presenter team for the Swiss Broadcasting Corporation's international broadcast unit. I presented the morning show (on a rotating basis with other presenters) hosted a jazz show and produced a show about pop music in the 80s. I also conducted interviews and read and wrote news bulletins.

Supercall was a start up owned by British Telecom and I joined shortly after its creation. It provided news and information services on the then new premium rate telephone numbers. Although I spent most of my time working for 'Citycall' the unit providing financial and market news and analysis, I also worked in the more mainstream unit providing music services and other services such as horoscopes and personal advice. Supercall was succesfully sold to the betting firm Ladbrokes.

Working on London's 24 commercial news station as the weekend's morning show assistant. I wrote scripts, operated the broadcast desk, lined up telephone interviews and made coffee for everyone.

Writing and reading the morning sports bulletin and generally assisting the news team for finding and reporting stories.

Learning the trade in a busy local newsroom for a new commercial radio station. I also helped out in all aspects of the radio station, including assisting at outside broadcasts and washing the radio car!
