My interest in the well being of our planet began in high school while researching a paper about the scarcity of fresh water. This interest lead to a near 20 year career writing about the environment in various capacities through government agencies and NGOs. In 2006 I left the comfort of a government job and set out for New York City to write the great American novel. The novel remains unpublished but it served to renew my passion for literature, travel and photography. This is the path I continue to follow.Travels abroad have provided a deeper appreciation of fine arts and the Bar None Group was formed in Mexico to promote the artists and writers of a small seaside community. Online, the Bar None Group promotes the work of artists and writers from a global village while occasionally reaching back into the past and shaking the dust off of forgotten wordsmiths. This global village of nurtured connections reacquainted me with my environmental past. Through friends in Mexico I headed north to Canada to create a website for an organic farm. This project lead to a two year apprenticeship as a farmhand learning and appreciating the labor and love involved in feeding a community and a renewed respect for the earth. These experiences combine to allow me to be an attentive student of life, a better writer, an impassioned communicator and a person who has the ability to look at the bigger picture and not lose sight of short-term objectives.I seek opportunities to utilize and enhance the following technical and people skills I have developed over a writing career that has primarily focused on environmental issues and arts outreach. These skills include: writing, editing, copy-editing, proofreading, research, technical writing, web design, desktop publishing, graphic design, digital photography, photo editing, social media, SEO, public speaking and performance.
Listed skills include Blogging, Newsletters, Editing, Editorial, and 46 others.
